Most students chosen to attend a UWC are selected by National Committees. If you are a Costa Rican citizen you should contact the Costa Rican National Committee:

www.cr.uwc.org
If you are not a Costa Rican citizen you should contact the UWC National Committee in your home country. More information and links to all National Committees can be found at the United World Colleges website uwc.org
The selection process varies from one National Committee to another to ensure that is applicable and relevant to the local culture and educational system. Usually there will be a written application and some form of interview, and you may also be asked to take part in group activities and community service, an examination and perhaps even a weekend camp.
The teaching languages at the UWCCR are English and Spanish, but you do not need to be proficient in either language to apply.
Most students attend a UWC on a significant scholarship; contact your National Committee for further details. Students are selected for United World Colleges on the basis of merit, regardless of their financial circumstances.
If you are ineligible to apply through a National Committee or if there is no National Committee in your home country, please contact Gregory Walsh, the Admissions Coordinator at the UWCCR: gregory.walsh@uwccr.com.
