Students further participate in activities and service programmes which involve working closely with the local community in the incomparable natural environment of Costa Rica.
-
A new course in Global Citizenship and Public Service further reinforces this goal.
-
An extensive scholarship programme means that students are selected on the basis of merit and regardless of their social or economic status.
-
Given its historic connection with SOS Children Villages UWCCR aims to ensure that students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds are admitted to the school each year.

Given its geographical location, the college also seeks to provide places for students from all Latin American countries as well as from the Caribbean.
-
In addition, close to half the student population will come from other regions in the world.
-
The college is primarily committed to three areas: Peace, the environment and multiculturalism .
